Gooding treble at Towcester

KIM GOODING enjoyed an excellent day at Towcester yesterday with a treble over the 500m trip from four runners on the all-open race card, writes Paul Brown.

First to strike was Shockwave Ruby (11-4), who showed smart early speed after a modest start to make all from the first bend in 29.66sec.

Solerino reeled in Savana Isabella in a maiden in 30.02sec having been unable to go with the early pace, while Shockwave Onyx then repeated litter-sister Ruby’s effort, with a fine burst of early pace carrying him into what proved a decisive early lead as he posted 29.63sec.

Their other sibling, Shockwave Iolite, could not cope with the pace of 2-9 favourite Jet Stream Wind as Kevin Hutton’s strong sort led round and was a well-beaten second to the 29.55sec scorer, the fastest time of the day over the standard trip.
