Seagulls are still making progress
Southampton v Brighton Kick-off 3pm Best prices H 29-20, A 21-10, D 9-4
BRIGHTON have allowed a promising start to the campaign to fall away but a trip to Southampton gives them a good opportunity to build on an encouraging midweek display at West Ham, writes Ian Wilkerson.
Hammers boss David Moyes said a 1-1 draw was a fair result even though Neal Maupay’s equaliser did not arrive until the dying minutes at the London Stadium.
It was not the first time the Seagulls have shown great resolve on the road - they took a point at the death against rivals Crystal Palace and fought back from two goals down to draw at Anfield – so that should bode well for their trip to the south coast.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Saints have lost once at home, but they have conceded eight goals in their last three matches and could be vulnerable, although as seven of Brighton’s last nine games have finished level, it seems sensible to take the draw-no-bet option.
