Top spot beckons for Uruguay

GROUP H looks one of the less likely sections to produce a major shock with South Korea and Ghana both double-figure prices to finish top, which is probably a fair reflection of their chances.
Portugal are the 4-6 jollies to win the section but their recent record at the World Cup leaves plenty to be desired, with just three wins in as many editions.
Indeed, the Iberians have not topped their section at any of their last six major tournaments, despite winning Euro 2016.
Cristiano Ronaldo has had a disjointed season and he looked a man short of playing time in September’s Nations League fixtures.
With question marks over their talisman and an injury robbing them of key man Diogo Jota, Fernando Santos’s team look short enough to go through as group winners.
Uruguay have improved immeasurably under new manager Diego Alonso and they are a strong fancy to top Group H.
The South Americans have won their group at two of their last three World Cups and boast an intriguing squad blessed with a good balance of youth and experience.
The performances of Federico Valverde and Rodrigo Bentancur have been integral to the recent success of their club sides and they offer a rock-solid midfield base. Luis Suarez and Darwin Nunez are a capable strike partnership and the two-time winners also boast a strong, experienced defensive unit.
With a fresh start under a new manager and a balanced squad, Uruguay look a solid proposition to pip Portugal to top spot.
