Cocktail on course for a four-timer

PAPA COCKTAIL looks the obvious one in the Sky Bet Sunday Series Apprentice Handicap at Beverley on Sunday.

Stella Barclay’s four-year-old is on a four-timer and the form of his latest Carlisle win has been well advertised – the runner-up and third finished first and second at Hamilton next time and the fifth and seventh filled the first two places in a competitive handicap at Thirsk on Monday.

Andromedas Kingdom was only ninth of 20 in a 6f handicap at Thirsk on last month’s debut for Mick Appleby but that run can be upgraded as she was poorly drawn in stall three and the form has already received several boosts.

The return to 5f is unlikely to inconvenience when she returns to Thirsk on Friday for the Follow @ThirskRaces On Twitter Fillies’ Handicap.

Dream Deal’s patient running style was at a disadvantage at Catterick on May 25 where he fared bets of the hold-up horses in a modest fourth. Danny Brooke’s four-year-old is now 0-8 but looks capable of rewarding each-way support in the 5f Weatherbys Handicap at Thirsk (he’s also entered in the 6f handicap at the same meeting).
