Progressive Roach can power to victory for Easterby
Paul Kealy
OF BEVERLEY’S three TV offerings, two are juvenile events, so it’s no great surprise the layers haven’t bothered pricing them up, while the other one is a Class 4 handicap.
Only bet365 had priced it up at the time of going to press, but for those with access to an account I reckon Roach Power is a fairly attractive bet at 8-1.
This does have to come with a warning that he is also in a better race at the track on Sunday, but this would be easier to win, and getting another victory on the board is probably paramount for a horse who has passed the post in front just once, but has five seconds to his name.
A half-brother to Art Power, Roach Power is obviously nowhere near as fast or talented as that one, but he’s heading in the right direction in terms of RPRs this term since being gelded and may have found the mile at Leicester last time just a shade too far.
He got it well enough, of course, given he was second of ten, but dropping back a little more than half a furlong should suit him perfectly.
