Musselburgh pot fails to attract
MOANS and groans over poor prize-money fall on deaf ears when races that offer decent dough are not supported. Musselburgh put up a whopping 20 grand for a twoyear-old seller last Saturday and yet only seven bothered to turn up. Those who did won’t be running for that sort of fund again in a hurry. That said, the form might be okay for a seller and Jack Channon presumably agrees. He saddled the fourth and yet was willing to fork out £24,000 to recruit the winner, Gray’s Inn, who was good enough to finish second in a maiden first time out.
