If Galopin Des Champs is to have pretensions of becoming king of the castle in the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival then he should win here, and win well. Stattler is a credible opponent and may well give the favourite something to think about, but you’d have thought that he may have a better chance of lowering the favourite’s colours when they next cross swords in March. The rest look to be outclassed and should be playing for the bronze medal.
