Quintillus can take advantage of mark

5.00 Ascot, 1m handicap

Air To Air bids to land a first Royal winner for George Boughey but he has been put up 8lbs for his latest victory which makes life difficult.

Traditionally this not a race for punters with just one favourite winning in the last ten, so my attention was automatically drawn to some of the bigger price horses.

The two to catch my eye are the Charlie Appleby-trained

Quintillus and the Aidan O’Brien-trained Horoscope.

The strongest form in the race could come in the shape of Horoscopes seventh-placed finish behind subsequent 2,000 Guineas winner Poetic Flare.

He was beaten less than five lengths at Leopardstown back in April but the colt has since run twice without a win.

The return to better ground could bring out further improvement from the son of No Nay Never and he can not be discounted for the stable that won the race in 2015 with War Envoy.

Quintillus was a horse on the rise until his last run at Sandown in the Esher Cup when something was clearly a miss and jockey William Buick rightfully pulled the gelding up.

He is potentially well handicapped running off the same mark.

Qaader could pose a threat after impressing on fast ground at Goodwood the colt has only been raised 1lb by the handicapper.
