CATHAL GAHAN
1. Settle For Bay 2. Cape Byron
3. Red Tea
David Marnane did a wonderful job last season keeping Settle For Bay in one piece and was rewarded with victory in this race. The gelding hacked up off 6lb lower and, while he’s not reached anything like that level since, it wouldn’t be a massive shock if he’s been trained with this race in mind. Cape Byron won well over 7f here recently. He travelled like a dream and tactical speed is essential in a big-field handicap. Joseph O’brien’s Red Tea is another to keep an eye on.
