The six-million dollar questions

TOM WARD

Can Sea Of Class stamp her authority?

With Enable out of the race,

Sea Of Class heads the field for this Group 1 and if replicating her form of last season will surely prove difficult to stop.

Trained by William Haggas, the daughter of Sea The Stars progressed steadily through the ranks last season, winning twice at Listed level before bursting on to the Group 1 scene with victories in the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks.

Her second in the Arc confirmed her status in the top rank and there should be plenty more to come in 2019.

What to expect from Masar?

The more you watch Masar’s Derby victory last season, the more you realise just what a dominant display it was from Godolphin’s long-striding son of New Approach.

In a season when Roaring Lion and Cracksman plundered subsequent middle-distance riches, the absence of Masar was somewhat forgotten with many believing the Derby hero’s racing career over.

Yet Charlie Appleby has always remained positive about a return, and now with this race identified as a launch pad it will be fascinating to see whether Masar can advertise the same ability he did at Epsom last season.
