LAST year’s Queen Anne Stakes victor Accidental Agent started off his 2018 campaign at Ascot, finishing third behind the Simon Crisford-trained Century Dream in the Listed Paradise Stakes.

The son of Delegator, who has won two of his five starts at the Berkshire track, then ran in the Group 1 Lockinge, finishing sixth of 14 behind the talented Rhododendron. Trainer Eve Johnson Houghton previously said he had not had an ideal build-up to the race but still finished in front of Group 2 scorer Beat The Bank and Lincoln winner Addeybb.

Sent off an unconsidered 33-1 shot for the Queen Anne, the then four-year-old was held up before heading runner-up Lord Glitters and eventual third Lightning Spear by half a length and a neck. Accidental Agent also comprehensively reversed form with Century Dream, who finished three-quarters of a length further behind in fourth.
