British novices have a terrific record in this race with Coo Star Sivola, Un Temps Pour Tout and Holywell all landing the spoils in the last seven runnings, and it is worth siding with novices from these shores again. Preference is for Lieutenant Rocco, who has good form in Graded company and bolted up on his first try at 3m over fences. He is a fantastic jumper for a novice and could have plenty in hand off a mark of 147 – he wouldn’t be out of place in the Grade 1s.
