JAMIE McBRIDE

William Hill

I would firmly side with Constitution Hill who will surely prove to be the strongest opposition Honeysuckle has had to face to date. We are happy to lay more than our fair share of Honeysuckle to win the Champion Hurdle leading up to her first run of the season.

I would love to say Allaho but no doubt connections will play it safe and aim for the consolation Ryanair Chase. Galopin Des Champs didn’t totally convince with his jumping at times last season, and at the prices if I was having a bet now I would side with Stattler at 20-1.

We sided with Energumene at both Ascot and Cheltenham last season and are again happy to lay more than our fair share of Shishkin. I have a soft spot for the wayward talent that is Gentleman De Mee and hope his ability can continue to be harnessed in the right way.

I am not sure if Thedevilscoachman will continue over hurdles, but he is worth a shot at this if he does. Connections feel soft ground is important, but hopefully he will get a clear run this season and fulfil his potential.

If you could have one bet for the Cheltenham Festival what would it be?
