Barcelona flying but Sevilla may still notch

Barcelona have dropped just two points from their nine La Liga matches since a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in mid-October and hopes will be high that they can cement their position at the top of the table now that star striker Robert Lewandowski has returned from a three-match suspension.

Barcelona recorded three straight 1-0 victories against Atletico Madrid, Getafe and Girona in the Pole’s absence.

However, we should see greater purpose from the Xavi’s Catalan giants up front given that centreforward Lewandowski is available again.

Sevilla have had a poor season by their recent standards and the Andalusians need to scrap for every point they can get, but there have been signs of life in the last few weeks.

Sevilla have won three of their last four matches and although those were all at home, they should at least go on the front foot, particularly as they have scored in all nine of their league away games this season.

They are expected to play their part at Camp Nou, even if they are unable to prevent a victory for their hosts.
