Bayern are fancied to return to winning ways

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich have given the chasing pack plenty of encouragement by registering three successive draws since the winter break, but they can secure their first league victory since November by defeating seventhplaced Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena on Sunday.

It’s getting congested towards the top with five points covering the leading six clubs, although Bayern retain the capacity to go on a long winning run and it shouldn’t take too much longer for them to click into gear.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side are the division’s top scorers with 52 goals and possess the best defensive record with just 16 conceded.

Injuries and illness have been an issue with Lucas Hernandez, Manuel Neuer, Sadio Mane and Noussair Mazraoui yet to feature this year. But Bayern largely dominated Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to fellow highflyers Eintracht Frankfurt, who scored with their only shot on target.

Wolfsburg are having a decent season but they were beaten 2-1 at Werder Bremen at the weekend and may struggle to avoid back-to-back losses.
