Chacun Pour Soi hard to beat

Some scintillating chasing action is in store this Saturday, with two Grade 1s over fences at Sandown, and a Grade 3 handicap over the National fences at Aintree.

The Grade 1 Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown has been won by Moscow Flyer, Kauto Star, Master Minded, Sprinter Sacre and Altior, amongst others.

Paul Nicholls is the race’s winningmost trainer with 11 victories stretching back to Flagship Uberalles in 1999.

Paul Nicholls has also trained a record seven winners of Sandown’s Henry VIII Novices’ Chase, including four since 2011. Altior and Sceau Royal won this race in 2016 and 2017. Any last-time-out winner, bred in France and aged five should be shortlisted.

The Becher Chase at Aintree compliments the Sandown action. The race serves as an early-season trial for the Grand National.
