Hammers can stifle Chelsea

12.30pm Saturday, BT Sport 1

West Ham and Chelsea have started strongly in the Premier League this season and the points may be shared when the sides square off at the London Stadium.

David Moyes’ squad have been the surprise package of the top flight this season, able to sustain the effort that saw them finish last season sixth.

The Hammers have maintained their good organisation and their central midfield partnership of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek is one of the best in the d ivision.

West Ham do face a difficult challenge here however, with Chelsea impressing since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

The German has made particular improvements defensively and this could be a cagey affair in which both sides’ attackers are limited to few chances.

West Ham have shown they can challenge the top sides this season and are fancied to pick up a draw. STAT West Ham have won five and drawn two of their first nine home games in all competitions sssssDraw [JC]
